Largest radiant panel project in Ireland. Over 1,876m of radiant panels supplied to heat 5,000m2 area
Challenge: Flow and return pipework, pressure drops and thermal expansion.
Solution: Being one of the oldest radiant panel manufacturers in Europe prepares you for any and all eventualities. We proposed a solution where the flow and return connections to the radiant panels are on one side of the arena. This reduced the cost of pipework needed onsite as the flow and return pipework to the radiant panels can run on one side along the entire length of the arena. Considering the panels themselves carry the hot water anyway and this proposal only meant changing the headers on either end, for very little capital investment our radiant panels helped reduce the cost of the pipework for the project.
The pipework chosen also benefits from having a low pressure drop and the most uniform temperture along the entire strip. The panels are constructed using the same material of construction. Steel pipes, headers and face panels ensures a uniform coefficienct of expansion for the assembled panel. We provided detailed pressure drop and thermal expansion calculations which helped build confidence in the stability of the panels and reduce pump sizes.
Challenge: Logistics
Solution: We offered a unique delivery solution which helped the installation team with a just-in-time delivery solution.
Each panel was made up of several different lengths and numerous modules which we colour coded to assist with installation.
