Natural water from a well / aquafer under the hotel provides
100% free cooling for all the air conditioning without the use of heat-pumps or chillers
The kitchen canopy ventilation system recovers waste heat and reduces fire risk by preventing grease building up in the ductwork.
The kitchen canopy ventilation system was designed to reduce the risk of fire in the ductwork and at the same time recover waste heat which is used to heat the building when required. It is possible to also use this waste heat to partially heat the water used by the hotel. By reducing odours and eliminating grease from the kitchen canopy exhaust, it has become possible to exhaust at low level from the building.
Minister Richard Bruton TD, John O’Sullivan SEAI and Brian McGill Iveagh Garden Hotel. AHUs Case study and Kitchen Ventilation . At the launch of the SEAI Exceed grant. Low carbon hotel is cooled without the use of refrigerants thus reducing environmental pollution and improving sustainability. The reduced use of fossil fuel, CO2 emissions means a better environment for us all. EPBD energy performance.
